Get grouping the best podcasts of each country on a free platform at European level.
The company does not seem easy at this time of global format, but that is the goal that has been set at the Bulle Media production agency, based in Brussels, just a kilometer from the European Parliament, with its Europod project,
“A kind of audio Netflix” but no economic cost.
“The intention is to value the best national podcast, buy your rights and transfer them to a European audience through a free access platform,” explains Alfonso Moreno, member of Bull Media team, who commands French Antoine Lheureux in
A crucible of nationalities ranging from the Italian to English through the German or Luxembourg with the intention of building a catalog of podcasts in various languages focused mainly on European matters from social, political and cultural perspectives.
In fact, in that part of negotiation, even without entering the exact commercial value of the products, have already begun to take the first steps from the agency, which has financing the European Union after winning a contest, to probe the provision
Of the producers of each country.
And that contact, as they detail, has been “positive” and generated “enthusiasm” because “it supposes to grow, make yourself known and overcome the barriers of the national.”
Those barriers, especially the themes and idiomatic, are the ones that expect to overcome with Europod, an app that works under registration, which has already developed 15 series of own creation with one over the figure of the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, which mixes a part
Fiction with the real voices of Alexis Tsipras, Jean Claude Juncker or François Hollande, as the main claim.
“It is our presentation card, it is an intense journalistic work in which we have invested a lot and we searched for a very careful product,” says Alfonso Moreno on the series of 10 episodes.
With that basis, the next step that they intend to continue in Europod and Bulle Media is to be introduced into the productions of each country to acquire their rights and be able to start with the different translations.
At first the languages in which the podcast can be heard will be French, Italian, Spanish, English and German.
“With that, much of the countries are covered and perhaps later, if the issue works, it will seek to translate to more minority languages,” they point out.
For this, for this, the idea of this agency based in Brussels is to hire independent podcast translators and begin to be based in the Mediterranean countries (Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece), France and Germany.
That is, the most western areas of Europe since at the moment the option of Eastern Europe, the Balkans or Scandinavia does not enter into the plans of the promoters.
But do not rule out it in the future either.
