In 2005, for example, a land shift led to extinction in its habitat of Abutilon Pitcairnense, an endemic species of the island of Pitcairn in South America.

Elena Castillo-Lorenzo (Teruel, 1987) has a very special role as a researcher in the Millenium Seed Bank Conservation Department: The study of “wild relatives” of traditional crops.
