“It was not sold because there was no buyer”. A work by Pal Sarkozy, the father of the former president, priced at 10,000 euros at an auction in Nice did not find a buyer, we learned from the Boisgirard-Antonini study .

The work, a large print on canvas, printed in six copies, co-signed with Werner Hornung, combines a drawn base with very colorful digital work. It had been acquired in 2008 in Madrid by individuals from the Côte d’Azur.
“As it’s a relatively virgin market at auction, we didn’t really know where we were going in terms of price. They wanted 10,000 euros and it was to be tried”, added Me Mathias Petit, whose the colleague was holding the gavel on Tuesday afternoon.
Pal Sarkozy, born in Budapest in 1928, fled communist Hungary and immigrated to France after World War II. Remarried four times, he is 91 years old.
