Thursday, June 2, at 1:30 p.m. the gendarmes from the Castellane company and the High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon arrived at Chalvet, which is well-known for paragliding.
A Dutch paraglider aged 31 died shortly after takeoff. She was solo. This activity was not possible due to strong winds and the weather conditions. Paragliding instructors at the local school decided to not fly because of this. An investigation was launched to determine the circumstances surrounding this accident. The investigation is headed by the Colmars-les Alpes community of brigades gendarmes with support from the company’s gendarmes.
