Renault has big ambitions for Alpine, as demonstrated by the hiring of a manager with expertise gained from one of the most prestigious sports car brands in the world. Philippe Krief will thus become director of Alpine engineering and product performance at the beginning of March, as well as general manager of Alpine Cars. “Philippe Krief will bring all his experience gained during his career to the benefit of Alpine’s strategy, as the brand has announced an unprecedented product plan for the coming years,” Alpine said in a statement. Passed by Michelin, Fiat and Alfa Romeo, where he developed the Giulia sedan and the Stelvio SUV, Philippe Krief had been Ferrari’s technical director since 2016. The brand with the prancing horse, in full electrification, had appointed a new head of R in early January.
