In November last year Apple presented its first processors for Mac designed internally with Arm Architecture, the M1.
These processors are already present at the MacBook Air, the Mac Mini, the iMac and a version of the MacBook Pro designed for domestic users.
It was missing what Apple’s strategy would be for more powerful machines and the professional audience.
The answer already has a name and it is not one, but of two chips: the M1 Pro and the M1 Max.
The new processors are an evolution of the presented in November with more process centers, both in those intended for the general calculation and the graphics, and the highest transfer speed between the memory, which is integrated into the processor itself, and these nuclei.
The M1 Pro have 32 GB of RAM and are twice as much in graphics and 70% more powerful in general calculation than the M1 presented a year ago.
The M1 MAX will have 64 GB of memory, 32 graphic process cores (instead of the 16 of the Pro or 7 or 8 of the M1) and a faster transfer speed of the memory to the different process cores.
This chip has a whopping over 57,000 million transistors.
Both models will allow Apple to offer similar performance or somewhat higher than Intel’s most advanced processors, but with the advantage of lower energy consumption and less need for refrigeration.
These new processors have served as an excuse to renovate the MacBook Pro, the teams focused on the creative public and professional developers.
Apple has redesigned these Mac reintroducing some of the features he had eliminated in recent years.
The equipment, for example, have a MagSafe magnetic loading connector (can also be loaded by USB-C), an HDMI output and an SD card reader.
The company has eliminated the controversial TouchBar tactile bar, which few users found practicing, and the screen surface has increased leaving the webcam in a “notch” or “eyebrow” similar to the iPhone.
This webcam has twice as much resolution as the previous MacBook Pro and better behavior in low-light environments.
The new MacBook Pro will be available in two screen sizes, 14.2 and 16.2 inches.
The screens have more brightness and contrast thanks to the use of minilated retrollation and will support refresh frequencies up to 120 Hz, although they can be blocked at lower specific frequencies to assist in video editing tasks.
In some configurations, these machines are up to 13 times more powerful at the graph than equipment with Intel processors with integrated graphics and can operate for 17 or 21 hours away from the plug, depending on the chosen model.
The new teams will start selling from next week.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro starts at 2,249 euros with SSD of 512 GB and M1 Pro processor. The 16 “model will cost 2,749 euros with the same configuration.
In addition to the new processors and MacBooks, Apple has also taken advantage of this year’s second autumn event to launch new audio products.
The company will put on sale Homepods Mini speakers in different colors, although at the same price.
It will also launch a new version of the Airpods wireless headphones with a design more similar than the Pro models, but without cancellation of ambient noise.
Apple has also launched a new Subscription Plan for Apple Music, Apple Music Voice, which for 5 euros a month to access the Apple Music catalog but only through Siri and without access to space audio, no loss audio,
Lyrics, Videoclips and other extras.
