Soldier Iván Mejuto Rodríguez, assigned to the Artillery Group of the “Galicia” VII Brigade, died today Thursday in a traffic accident that occurred near Langa de Duero (Soria) when he was returning from the GAMMA AZOR 23 military exercise.
The truck he was driving overturned when it left the road, explains the Army on its official X account (formerly Twitter), where it expresses its condolences to Iván’s family, friends and colleagues.
The accident, in which the driver’s passenger was seriously injured, occurred at 3:15 p.m., at kilometer 244 of the CN-122, in the direction of Valladolid, the Government Subdelegation in the province reported.
The vehicle has left the road on the right shoulder and has fallen between five and six meters. The Civil Guard is investigating the causes of the accident.
