Singer Aya Nakamura and her ex-companion Vladimir Boudnikoff were sentenced Thursday, February 23 to 10,000 euros and 5,000 euros in fines respectively for “reciprocal violence on a spouse” by the Bobigny Criminal Court.

A higher sanction than the requisitions issued on January 26 by the prosecutor: she had requested a fine of 5,000 euros for the French pop star, and 2,000 euros for Mr. Boudnikoff. Neither the lawyers nor the defendants were present for the deliberation. The lawyers will consult with their clients to decide on a possible appeal.

At the hearing, the couple recounted their argument, the cries and the reciprocal physical violence. The two defendants had returned to the stormy night of August 6 to 7, 2022 in Rosny-sous-Bois, near Paris, where they lived with their six-month-old daughter. At the origin of the crisis, jealousy, and a marriage to which the singer was not invited, unlike her spouse. In these celebrations participated a former companion of the producer.

An argument that escalates

The dispute unfolds in several acts. Screams erupt, objects fly and physical violence is committed in the music studio located in the basement. “He started getting more and more angry, hugging me, trying to calm me down in his own way,” the singer said. She admitted giving him a slap that unsettled Vladimir Boudnikoff and knocked him to the ground.

Vladimir Boudnikoff, for his part, recognized a lack of calm, especially when Aya Nakamura returned later in the evening to collect things, accompanied by two friends. Out of “fear” in the face of these men he does not particularly like, he points a dummy gun at them. Since then, the couple has been separated, but assured that they maintain a good relationship in the interest of their daughter.

Born in Bamako, Aya Nakamura grew up in Aulnay-sous-Bois (Seine-Saint-Denis). Her career took off with her second album Nakamura (2018), followed by Aya in 2020, giving her the status of the most listened to French-speaking singer in the world. The day after her trial, on January 27, she released her latest opus, DKN, based on the initials of her last name, Danioko.

Aged 34 and producer, Vladimir Boudnikoff also directed the clip for one of Aya Nakamura’s hits, Pookie, which peaked at 338 million views on YouTube since its release in 2019.
