Deizisau/Esslingen (dpa/lsw) – A total of 17 small kittens were released on a fairground in Deizisau (Esslingen district) within a few weeks. The animals were about eight to ten weeks old, said the police headquarters in Reutlingen on Wednesday. Eight baby cats were discovered in mid-August and reported to the animal shelter. Last Saturday, nine kittens were found again in the same meadow. According to the Esslingen animal shelter, two of them have not yet been caught.

So far it is completely unclear who exposed the animals – the police are looking for witnesses. The kittens were in poor health and one had to be euthanized. The shelter assumes all cats come from the same household as they all have skin fungus. Since the animals still have to be fed, they cannot be placed at the moment.
