Hemmingen (dpa / lsw) – After the robbery of a senior citizen in Hemmingen (Ludwigsburg district), a man was arrested. The 42-year-old is in custody, the police said on Thursday. He is said to have tied the 72-year-old with tape and stolen her jewelry.
The suspect is said to have posed as an acquaintance over the intercom. The elderly woman let him into the house and was overpowered by the man. After 15 minutes she was able to free herself and drove to her nephew, who called the police. The suspect is said to have stolen jewelery worth around 400 euros and 35 euros in cash. He was arrested in Switzerland on January 13 and brought before a magistrate in Stuttgart on January 17.
