Ludwigsburg (dpa / lsw) – Nine people were slightly injured in an accident on the Autobahn 8 between Leonberg West and Dreieck Leonberg with several vehicles. A 40-year-old woman wanted to change lanes with her car on Thursday evening and overlooked a car coming from behind, the police said. The 41-year-old driver of the car tried to brake, but crashed into the 40-year-old’s vehicle. This was then thrown into the green strip next to the road. In addition to the woman, five children aged 4 months to 12 years were in the car.
The driver of another car was also unable to brake in time and drove into the 41-year-old’s car. The woman and her five passengers suffered minor injuries in the collision. The two drivers and a passenger in the other cars also sustained minor injuries. All nine injured were taken to hospital, one infant by rescue helicopter. Two other vehicles were damaged by the flying debris, but their occupants were not injured. The highway was partially or completely blocked for several hours.
