St. Leon-Rot (dpa/lsw) – A 37-year-old sprinter driver overlooked a secured accident site on Autobahn 6 near St. Leon-Rot on Sunday and crashed into a police patrol car. The police said the patrol car was thrown into an ambulance by the impact. The two occupants of the Sprinter, the crew of the patrol car, the crew of the ambulance and a 21-year-old who was treated after a wildlife accident with her vehicle were slightly injured.

Two of the three lanes in the direction of Mannheim were closed for around seven hours while the accident was being recorded and the lane was being cleaned. The vehicles involved in the accident in the Rhein-Neckar district were no longer drivable and had to be towed away. There was little traffic on the Autobahn, and there were no traffic jams.
