Singen (dpa / lsw) – The acute clinics of the health network of the district of Konstanz have gone into emergency operation due to the increasing number of respiratory diseases. The result is postponements of treatments that can be planned, insofar as this is medically responsible, the association announced on Monday evening in Singen.
“Influenza and other respiratory diseases are not only driving up the number of sick patients, they are also leading to staff shortages,” it said in a statement. The hospital situation is “maximum tense” throughout Germany, explained managing director Bernd Sieber.
The staff situation in the Radolfzell Clinic is particularly problematic. Due to the high level of sick leave in the medical profession and in nursing, an admission freeze was imposed for the Hegau-Bodensee-Klinikum there. This initially applies until December 27th. Emergencies will therefore continue to be cared for.
