Kraichtal (dpa / lsw) – He is said to have been involved in an accident as a passenger and then drove back to the scene of the accident drunk in his own car. As the police announced on Monday, a 25-year-old is now facing criminal proceedings for drunk driving.
According to the current state of knowledge of the officials, he was driving with a 21-year-old driver on the country road in Kraichtal (Karlsruhe district) early on Sunday morning in the direction of Eppingen when the woman’s car left the road for reasons that have not yet been clarified. The 21-year-old first drove over a street sign and then came to a stop in the ditch. The 25-year-old is said to have attacked the woman and forbidden her to call the police. The officials assume that he then ran home and drove his car back to the scene of the accident to pull the 21-year-old’s vehicle out of the ditch. The two grabbed the damaged street sign and drove away.
The 21-year-old announced the process a little later. She must now expect a criminal complaint for hit-and-run accidents. The police carried out a voluntary breath alcohol test on the 25-year-old, which showed a value of 1.2 per mille.
