Bietigheim-Bissingen (dpa/lsw) – The German 10,000 meter champion Alina Reh is leading the women’s field at the 40th Bietigheim New Year’s Eve Run. After a two-year break due to the corona pandemic, several thousand participants are expected again on the 11.1-kilometer route on December 31 (2 p.m.), the organizers announced. The 25-year-old deer from SCC Berlin comes from Laichingen in the Swabian Jura and has already won the race in Bietigheim four times. The long-distance runner is also German champion in cross-country skiing and over the 5000 meters. Among the men, the four-time winner Simon Boch from LG Telis Finanz Regensburg will start. Boch last won in Bietigheim in 2018, Reh in 2016.
