Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – Baden-Württemberg’s Finance Minister Danyal Bayaz (Greens) only wants to approve 350 new jobs in administration and schools in view of the difficult budget situation. The ministries, on the other hand, have requested 8,796 new posts, according to an updated draft by the ministry for budget deliberations next Tuesday. The departments themselves should only get 11 new jobs, as reported by the “Stuttgarter Zeitung” (Thursday). The ministries had announced a need of 400. Most of the 350 jobs should benefit schools, health authorities and the penal system, the German Press Agency learned. However, Minister of Education Theresa Schopper (Greens) had applied for almost 4,500 new jobs. According to these plans, the big loser would be Interior Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU). He had called for around 2,740 jobs for the police and regional councils – but can only count on very few new jobs.
