Mannheim (dpa / lsw) – Burglars pierced a wall in a Mannheim bridal shop and soiled numerous wedding dresses. The clothes on display got so dirty that they now have to be laboriously cleaned, a police spokesman said on Tuesday. Whether the cleaning succeeds at all is questionable.
The intruders first broke into the store over the weekend. According to the police, they then tried to drill through a wall in order to possibly get into adjacent business premises. At first it was unclear whether they were disturbed during the work by residents of the house and therefore had to stop. The damage is at least 10,000 euros. The perpetrators also stole an undisclosed amount from a cash register. The burglary was discovered on Monday when the store opened.
