According to police, a rainbow flag had been lit late Saturday night; a group of up to 30 people injured several people. One person came to the hospital. According to the association of queer employees in the police, judiciary and customs in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria (VelsPolSÜD), the person with the rainbow flag is said to have been surrounded, insulted and beaten by the attackers. Visitors rushing to help were also attacked. Allegations against the police have become known, according to which they only intervened hesitantly and “probably” also made anti-queer statements from their ranks. Left state spokeswoman Sahra Mirow called for clarification: “queer hostility must have no place in our society.”
