If you don’t form a rescue lane, you stand in the way of helpers and risk human lives. The Baden-Württemberg police are now arming themselves in the fight against these and other traffic offenders.
Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – nationwide, the police initially equipped 100 of the approximately 5,000 service vehicles with so-called dashcams (“dashboard camera”) to document traffic offenses. The devices are intended to target escape lane sinners and catch dangerous speeders. The technology can also be useful for recording illegal vehicle races. The cameras for the pilot phase will be presented to the public today on the premises of the Ludwigsburg Traffic Police Inspectorate. According to the Ministry of the Interior, the equipment costs around 600,000 euros.
