Stuttgart (dpa/lsw) – According to Economics Minister Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, it is not possible to subsequently change the period under consideration for the Corona emergency aid in Baden-Württemberg. As the ministry announced on Tuesday, a legal opinion came to this conclusion. This is based on the principle of equal treatment enshrined in the Basic Law.
“We have done everything for months to find a way to help the recipients of emergency aid,” said Hoffmeister-Kraut, according to the announcement. She is now all the more emphatically committed to ensuring that no company’s existence is jeopardized by an additional payment. “We will use all leeway for generous solutions in the final settlement,” said the CDU politician.
At the beginning of the pandemic, the emergency aid was used to support companies and the self-employed who were in a situation that threatened their existence as a result of the crisis and had severe liquidity bottlenecks. The authorities had assured that the emergency aid could not be repaid in principle. However, if the liquidity bottleneck was less than initially communicated, there would be a need for repayment.
