Karlsruhe (dpa / lsw) – A cyclist in the Rüppurr district of Karlsruhe shot a pensioner in the face with a pistol. The 70-year-old was not injured, according to the police. The pensioner rushed to the aid of a pedestrian on Saturday morning who had gotten into an argument with the cyclist after he drove too close to him. The perpetrator then turned around and bumped into the pedestrian with his bike.
The 70-year-old confronted the cyclist, the police said. The perpetrator then parked his bike, pulled the pistol out of his jacket pocket and shot the pensioner twice in the face from a short distance. The 70-year-old only got away with gunshot residue on his clothes. The shooter then fled. The police are now looking for witnesses.
