Sandhausen (dpa / lsw) – Captain Dennis Diekmeier is about to return to the starting eleven at SV Sandhausen after a month-long injury break. Whether the full-back will start again on Sunday (1.30 p.m. / Sky) against Karlsruher SC has not yet been decided. But: “Dennis has made great progress, we’re really happy about that,” said SVS trainer Alois Schwartz on Friday. “He’s definitely an issue, maybe even from the start.”
The 33-year-old Diekmeier was substituted on for the first time in the 2-0 defeat in Düsseldorf. The SVS urgently needs a win against the KSC to get some air in the relegation battle.
