Stuttgart (dpa/lsw) – The service union Verdi calls for a day of action for better working conditions for people in further education on Wednesday. Trade union official Annelie Schwaderer said on Friday in Stuttgart: “The employees in further training do a socially very important and highly qualified job. That must finally be rewarded.” Verdi called for a significant expansion of collective bargaining coverage. Employers but also politicians have a responsibility here.

The day of action takes place nationwide. A focus in Baden-Württemberg is southern Baden and Karlsruhe. The state must significantly expand the financial support for further education. Schwaderer said: “Especially in view of the many crises, further training is crucial in order to maintain employment and promote participation and democracy.”
