According to experts, after unemployment had recently risen, the number should have fallen again in September. There are also seasonal reasons for this.

Stuttgart (dpa/lsw) – The regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency published the number of unemployed in September in Stuttgart on Friday (10 a.m.). According to experts, unemployment is likely to have fallen compared to the previous month. The cut-off date for the survey was September 12th.

In August, around 241,500 people were unemployed in the southwest. The unemployment rate was 3.8 percent, slightly higher than the previous month.

According to the regional directorate, part of the increase in August was seasonal, with many jobs and apprenticeships ending in the summer and young people leaving school. “Experience has shown that the number will decrease in the coming months, but in recent years we have observed a certain reluctance to start training,” said Christian Rauch, head of the regional directorate.
