Waghäusel (dpa/lsw) – The fire in a production hall in Waghäusel (Karlsruhe district) has been extinguished. The extinguishing work was completed late Monday afternoon, said a police spokesman on Tuesday. They had lasted through Monday because fire sources had flared up again and again, as a spokesman for the district fire brigade association in Karlsruhe said.
According to initial estimates, the fire in the approximately 4000 square meter hall of a plastics processing company caused damage in the millions. Around 120 firefighters and 30 members of the Federal Agency for Technical Relief were involved in the fire in an industrial area. Parts of the building and roof collapsed. Nobody got hurt. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
