For the first time, people in Baden-Württemberg can take part in a state-wide “Biodiversity Day”. There are different numbers of activities in different regions.
Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – For the first time ever there is a nationwide “Day of Biodiversity” in the southwest this weekend. The Baden-Württemberg State Nature Conservation Association wants to focus on the beauty and richness of biodiversity on its own doorstep. Excursions, lectures and nature experience activities are planned for Saturday and Sunday.
In the future, at the end of June every year, people throughout Baden-Württemberg should “be able to experience the fascination of our diverse nature,” said Gerhard Bronner, chairman of the state nature conservation association.
Almost 80 events are planned for “Biodiversity Day”, as a spokeswoman said. The range is large. The Kenzingen Black Forest Association in the Emmendingen district is putting on a theatrical performance on the capercaillie, a bat excursion and various nature walks. The Naturefriends Öhringen in the Hohenlohe district, for example, go on an insect expedition.
While not a single action was registered for “Biodiversity Day” in Stuttgart, four events are taking place in Freiburg and the surrounding area. The city of Mannheim is the leader: around 30 events are planned there, but only on July 9th and 10th. The square city then invites you to its 14th “Day of Biodiversity”.
