Stuttgart (dpa/lsw) – Unknown perpetrators stole six-figure gold coins from a pensioner in Stuttgart. According to the police, two men posed as police officers and the woman’s grandson when they called on Wednesday. The 87-year-old was led to believe that her grandson was involved in a fatal traffic accident. The perpetrators asked the woman to avoid a prison sentence by paying 20,000 to 40,000 euros. But because she didn’t have enough cash, those involved agreed to hand over gold coins. The pensioner packed them in a bag and handed them over to an unknown collector.
