Leonberg (dpa / lsw) – After a car caught fire, Autobahn 81 in the Leonberg triangle area was closed in a southerly direction for almost an hour on Wednesday night. The car caught fire shortly after midnight while driving near the Engelberg tunnel, the police said on Wednesday morning. The three occupants aged 31 to 50 years could have parked the car on the hard shoulder and left the vehicle in good time. They were unharmed. Firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control, police said. According to initial investigations by the traffic police, a technical defect in the engine compartment triggered the fire.
