Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – After some back and forth, the Greens and CDU in Baden-Württemberg have agreed on a compromise for the expansion of solar energy on agricultural land. The cap will be increased from 100 megawatts to 500 megawatts per year, the German press agency learned on Tuesday from coalition circles. The Greens originally wanted to abolish the lid altogether. On the other hand, Minister of Agriculture Peter Hauk (CDU) had blocked because he feared too much conversion of fields and grassland areas. The government wanted to decide on the increase on Tuesday at its external meeting in Tübingen.
