Iffezheim (dpa/lsw) – The two-year-old mare Habana won the 149th future race in Iffezheim with an impressive performance. The mare ridden by Eduardo Pedroza and owned by Andreas Wöhler outclassed the opponents in the 55,000 euro race on Wednesday. After 1400 meters, the duo relegated See Paris and Michael Cadeddu to second place, Alexis Pouchin and her French mare Ghrainne came third.
The renowned Ferry Farm Stud in Spexard is the breeder and owner of the winner, who won twice superiorly in two starts. She is now scheduled to start in one of the most important European junior races in Paris. “You don’t have horses like that very often,” said trainer Wöhler about Habana. “When I saw her, it was love at first sight.”
