Heidenheim (dpa/lsw) – 1. FC Heidenheim has extended the expiring contracts of three players and is also opening a women’s soccer division in its club. The Swabian second division club announced this at its general meeting on Monday evening. Defenders Marnon Busch and Jonas Föhrenbach signed new contracts until June 30, 2027, midfielder Jan Schöppner until June 30, 2025. “These are three clear commitments from three key performers in our team, about which we – especially at this early stage – are very are particularly pleased,” said Heidenheim CEO Holger Sanwald.
The meeting also decided that the club will also offer women’s football in the future. The players of the Heidenheim women’s soccer club join the FCH and are assigned to the youth academy there. The former mayor of Heidenheim, Bernhard Ilg, was elected to succeed Klaus Mayer, the chairman of the supervisory board who died in October.
