Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – The verdict against two young men from the left-wing scene, who brutally beat down several men on the sidelines of a “lateral thinker” demonstration in Stuttgart, is final. The Federal Court of Justice rejected the appeals of the two defendants and a joint plaintiff, as a spokesman for the Stuttgart Regional Court announced on Thursday. In October 2021, the then 21-year-old was sentenced to four and a half years in prison and the 26-year-old to five and a half years.
According to the court, three men from a group of 20 to 50 people dressed in dark who wanted to go to a demonstration against the Corona measures of the then state government were beaten up in May 2020. Some of the victims were seriously injured. Since then, one man has been almost blind in one eye, another suffered a fractured skull and was in a coma for some time after the attack. All three victims were working at the Daimler car company at the time of the crime and were members of the works council of the right-wing “Automotive Center” trade union.
