Sacramento (dpa / lsw) – Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann wants to pay a visit to Californian Governor Gavin Newsom in Sacramento today. The focus will be on the Southwest’s partnership with California, on climate protection, the turnaround in traffic and information technology. Kretschmann is an old acquaintance in California. He has visited the “sunshine state” several times as head of government.
In 2015 he founded the international climate protection alliance “Under2 Coalition” with the then governor Jerry Brown, in which many countries, cities and regions are committed to climate protection. Kretschmann wants to meet Brown again this time. The Green politician was last in California in 2018.
Kretschmann is traveling to the USA this week with a delegation of more than 100 people. There he wants to establish contacts for the Southwest in Pittsburgh and California. The focus is on the topics of artificial intelligence, autonomous driving and the future of the healthcare industry.
