Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – In view of the effects of the war in Ukraine, Baden-Württemberg Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann is asking for understanding for a change of course and for a more open approach to wrong decisions. “We have to rethink a lot, do a lot of new things, take more risks,” said the Green politician in his government statement in the state parliament on Thursday. “There are many things we will only know better afterwards.” However, it is crucial that the direction is right and that errors are corrected quickly.

“I’ve been campaigning for a new error culture in business for many years,” Kretschmann continued. “Now at the very latest, in this crisis, we also need this new error culture in politics.”

At first, Kretschmann did not give any specific examples. However, the green-black coalition only recently changed course in the face of the crisis and decided to incur new debts in the next budget after all.
