Friedrichshafen (dpa/lsw) – The Russian war of aggression in Ukraine, galloping inflation and the threat of recession are topics at this year’s Lake Constance Business Forum. Well-known names are on the program for the one-day conference on Tuesday (from 9 a.m.). The outgoing ambassador of Ukraine to Germany, Andriy Melnyk, will take his place on the podium at one of his last public appearances in Germany. Ex-Federal Economics Minister Peter Altmaier (CDU) will discuss energy security, and former EU Commissioner Günther Oettinger will discuss the end of globalization. But it’s not just about business and politics: DFB President Bernd Neuendorf wants to face critical questions about the World Cup in Qatar.
A very special guest is the Jewess Henriette Kretz (88), who survived the Holocaust in what is now Ukraine. At the forum, she meets the young Yazidi Farhad Alsilo, who narrowly escaped the 2014 Iraqi genocide.
The Bodensee Business Forum under the motto “Networking instead of despair – impulses for ways out of the crises” is organized by the “Schwäbische Zeitung” and is taking place for the fifth time.
