Göppingen (dpa / lsw) – After a knife attack on Boxing Day in downtown Göppingen, the victim is out of danger, according to the public prosecutor. The 54-year-old should be taken out of the artificial coma, a spokeswoman said on Thursday. A 62-year-old is in custody for attempted manslaughter and is said to have stabbed the man several times. The police arrested him shortly after the fact.
The background to the incident on Monday evening is still unclear. The suspect has been silent so far, said the spokeswoman for the public prosecutor’s office. The 54-year-old should be questioned when he is able to do so again. It was unclear, for example, whether the two knew each other and what the attacker’s motive might have been.
