Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – After a raid on a Stuttgart nursing agency, the 34-year-old managing director was taken into custody. The company is said to have smuggled nursing staff from Bosnia and Serbia to Germany and illegally placed them in home care.

Therefore, 109 objects in 13 federal states were searched on Tuesday. The 34-year-old was arrested and then brought before a magistrate, as a spokesman for the main customs office in Stuttgart reported on Thursday.

The workers are said to have been used for months in so-called round-the-clock shifts in the household of the people to be cared for. The nurses are said to have received wages of 1500 to 2000 euros per month for their work. More than 100 illegal workers are said to have been mediated from Stuttgart. There were also searches in Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse.
