Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – In view of several problems with the Stuttgart S-Bahn, additional trains are to be used in the coming days. From Wednesday, a train from a series that is not otherwise used on the Stuttgart S-Bahn will run every two hours between the main station and Stuttgart-Vaihingen, as the train announced on Tuesday. From Thursday, a double-decker will also be used on the panorama route, so that commuters can use an hourly or sometimes half-hourly service.
The main route between the main station and Vaihingen is still closed. On the winding alternative route – the panoramic route – there were problems with worn wheels last week. Dozens of S-Bahn vehicles then had to go to the workshop, and traffic on a number of lines was severely restricted.
The S30 should also run every 30 minutes again from Thursday, as the spokeswoman said. The S23, which previously ran every hour, will again run every half hour between Filderstadt and Vaihingen as well as the main station and Backnang.
