Offenbach (dpa / lsw) – More Mediterranean than typically Central European: According to preliminary statistics, Baden-Württemberg was the federal state with the most hours of sunshine in July. People were able to enjoy 325 hours of sun – across Germany it was an average of 265. This was reported by the German Weather Service (DWD) on Friday after the first evaluation of the results from its around 2000 measuring stations.

With an average July temperature of 20.4 degrees, the southwest was the second warmest region in Germany after Saarland with 20.9 degrees. There were up to 29 summer days and 14 hot days on the Upper Rhine.

At 25 liters per square meter, the precipitation remained very low according to the preliminary statistics.

Overall, July 2022 was significantly too warm, significantly too dry and very sunny, as it was also said.
