Balingen (dpa/lsw) – A project to protect caring relatives is now being extended to the entire south-west after several years of testing. It is important that caring relatives stay healthy, said the managing director of the Baden-Württemberg accident insurance fund, Tanja Hund, according to a statement on Friday in Balingen (Zollernalbkreis).
The network for relatives has been tested there since 2017. The city of Balingen, the health insurance company DAK and the German pension insurance were involved.
Among other things, caring relatives want a contact point, as reported by the accident insurance company. Thanks to the model project, those affected could quickly and easily find out about offers on their doorstep in Balingen.
Around 472,000 people in need of care live in the southwest. More than half is cared for exclusively by relatives, as reported by the accident insurance fund with reference to figures from the State Statistical Office.
