Gengenbach (dpa / lsw) – The motive of a man who is said to have set a fire in a retirement home in Gengenbach (Ortenaukreis) on Wednesday is still unclear. “This is the subject of the investigation,” said a police spokesman on Thursday. The home is temporarily uninhabitable. The 70 residents were moved to other homes.
The alleged arsonist is a 51-year-old who was housed in the care facility. He is said to have slightly injured an employee and himself. One worker was treated for suspected smoke inhalation. None of the residents were injured.
