Lörrach (dpa / lsw) – In southern Baden, a suspect is being investigated because he is said to have delivered vehicle parts with a sales value of around 130,000 euros to Belarus. The man is suspected of violating the EU’s Belarus sanctions, according to the public prosecutor’s office in Lörrach. Südwestrundfunk (SWR) had reported on the case. The EU had tightened sanctions against Belarus this year because the country was taking part in Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.
The buyer of the goods is said to be a company in the Belarusian capital Mink, the investigators said. So far, there is no further information about this company, especially about possible connections to government agencies in Belarus. No information was given about the suspect. The process is expected to be completed by the end of November.
