Recent construction work on the new Wendlingen-Ulm railway line has resulted in the A8 being closed at the so-called Albaufstieg. Motorists must accept detours.

Mühlhausen (dpa / lsw) – Anyone traveling on the Autobahn 8 in the direction of Munich this weekend will have to take a detour. Due to construction work, the route on the so-called Albaufstieg will be closed from Saturday, 9:00 p.m. to Sunday, 7:00 a.m. The section between Mühlhausen im Täle and Hohenstadt (Göppingen district) is affected, as announced by Deutsche Bahn.

A temporary bridge over the road will be removed during the closure. A drainage pipe, which was required for the construction of the Filstal Bridge, runs along it. This is an important component of the new Wendlingen-Ulm express railway line. A detour will be posted during the closure.
