Eberbach (dpa / lsw) – A ship about 100 meters long has been stuck between the banks of the Neckar in Eberbach (Rhein-Neckar district) since Monday evening. The ship could not be freed during the night, the salvage attempts have been continued since the morning, a police spokeswoman said on Tuesday. However, it is still unclear when the river will be passable again. Until then, shipping traffic between the Rockenau and Hirschhorn locks will be closed.

The skipper wanted to dock the ship loaded with around 1,800 tons of salt at the former gravel loading point on Monday evening. The ship turned across the river. The Eberbach road bridge was temporarily closed for rescue attempts during the night.
