Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – In the dispute over the realignment of the state association of the Federation of Expellees, the top management has announced its resignation with immediate effect. This was announced by state manager Peter Benz on Thursday in Stuttgart. The association has been led by former CDU member of the Bundestag Iris Ripsam since 2017. She and the two deputies and other board members gave up their posts. With the resignation one wants to spare the association a crucial test, said Ripsam.
According to its own statements, the association represents around 30,000 people in the state with its 20 state teams and 35 district and local associations. In Germany, expellees or expellees are referred to in particular as German nationals who had to leave their homeland after the Second World War.
