Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – In an accident in a Stuttgart tunnel, three men were critically injured on Monday night. According to the police, a 21-year-old drove his car and two passengers on the federal highway 14 at high speed into the tunnel. The man is said to have lost control of his vehicle. After the driver drove over a traffic island, the car hit the tunnel walls on both sides, the police said. The car is said to have landed on the roof and slipped more than 100 meters.
According to the police, the fire brigade had to free the driver and his two 19-year-old and 22-year-old passengers from the car. The 19-year-old is no longer in mortal danger, but the other two men are. That’s why the public prosecutor’s office is investigating. It was initially unclear at what speed the vehicle was traveling.
