Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – In the middle of the evening rush hour, the police completely closed the Stuttgart Wagenburg tunnel on Monday. A truck driver had previously driven into the tunnel from the direction of the main station without paying attention to the height control, the authority said. When the truck pulled out of the east portal of the tunnel, it damaged and displaced a steel girder. The damage could not be quantified, it said. In the city center there were long traffic jams due to the closed tunnel, and bus routes had to be diverted.
