Stuttgart (dpa/lsw) – The social association VdK in the southwest is calling for financial incentives for vaccinated people in view of the possible increase in corona infections in autumn. The association announced on Friday that the proportion of people with one or more booster vaccinations is currently only 59.8 percent. Just over 7 percent of people over the age of 60 have been vaccinated four times – “too little to protect vulnerable groups from the corona virus”. The VdK state association also criticizes the elimination of the obligation to isolate.
In order to increase the vaccination rate, positive incentives are needed instead of sanctions for those who are not vaccinated, for example by reducing the contribution for those with statutory health insurance. Although the income of the health insurance companies would fall, the treatment costs for the unvaccinated would be reduced, among other things.
