Mannheim (dpa/lsw) – The third division football team SV Waldhof Mannheim has been fined three times totaling 16,530 euros for unsportsmanlike behavior by its supporters. The DFB sports court imposed these fines, the German Football Association announced on Tuesday. The club agreed to the verdicts, which means they are final.
The SVW supporters had initially infected firecrackers in a duel with Eintracht Braunschweig on March 6th. Two weeks later, after the final whistle of the game against 1860 Munich, Mannheim spectators threw coins at Löwen player Stephan Salger and a reporter for a long period of time during an interview.
In addition, just before the start of the second half at 1. FC Saarbrücken on April 9, Waldhof fans lit at least six smoke pots, six flashers and six firecrackers and shot off two flares. This delayed the restart. During the second half they also burned four Bengal torches, four turn signals and at least three smoke pots.
