Emmendingen (dpa / lsw) – A man in Emmendingen is said to have received life-threatening drugs or poison from his partner for a long time without knowing it. Only an examination by the doctor raised suspicions. The 57-year-old is now being investigated on suspicion of attempted murder, the police said on Thursday. She is said to have used an anticoagulant. A large amount of evidence was found in the couple’s shared apartment, which substantiated the suspicion against the partner.
According to the police, the 75-year-old did not feel well and consulted his family doctor. After the first look at the blood results, the doctor sent the man straight to a clinic because the senior hardly showed any blood coagulation values. In the Freiburg University Hospital, the man could only be saved by an emergency operation after spontaneous bleeding.
“Based on the findings, long-term administration of drugs or poison had to be considered,” the police said. An arrest warrant was issued for the girlfriend.
